           As Sign of Jonah's flagship initiative, The Historical Jonah Project is creating a trustworthy, authoritative multimedia ecosystem devoted to the historical prophet Jonah. It offers a serious alternative to the recycled and often unsound claims that increasingly shape popular and academic discussions of Jonah.

           Through primary research, biblical scholarship, and accessible media, the project seeks to restore confidence in the historical Jonah and raise the standard of Jonah-related scholarship.            Invite Dr. Tom Belke to speak at your event and to help people rediscover the historical Jonah. Dr. Belke is an experienced speaker at international conferences and church events, and the author of eight books on Jonah. This project aims to make the Scriptures come alive for people in a new way. Why?

           Scripture expects us to believe the prophets (2 Chr. 20:20; Luke 24:25). However, many struggle between a faith-based view that argues one should blindly believe the Scriptures are true and a scientific view that claims to know better. Dr. Belke has a different view: sound academic research into ancient sources shows them to be true—not based on blind faith, but on a compelling body of ancient evidence.
